Guidance On Joining CEWL

Applying for CEWL may appear a daunting task at first, and you may be a bit confused and concerned as to why we ask you to open up your privacy settings. However, we ask that your settings are opened up so we can ensure that we send the invitation to the crew to the correct account. We also ask that they are opened up so we are able to check for any potential banned members or crews. We take the security of our crew very seriously, so if you are looking to join a crew who looks after its members as best as possible, CEWL is the right place for you. Follow the below guidance on how to apply correctly for the crew to help ensure your application is successful on the first attempt.

We have specific requirements for your Playstation Network account and your Rockstar Social Club account. In short, you must have your friends list and recent activities set to public throughout your application and continued membership (Although settings can be altered to friends and crew once successful if you wish). You must also have your Playstation Network account linked to your Rockstar Social Club account. You must have your Rockstar Social Club account visibility set to everyone as well as your Playstation Network account set to visible on your social club account.

Full guidance on how to do all this can be found in PSN/Social Club Settings

We have banned crews due to a variety of reasons, such as being hostile towards our (and associated friendly crews) crew or due to them being Rockstar official crews which can contain millions of players. If you are a member of a banned crew you need to leave these crews before you apply. An up to date banned crews list can be found HERE.

It is unlikely, however, you need to check your friends list to ensure you have no banned members on your friends list. Banned members are not allowed to be on your friends list and this will be cause for your application to be rejected.

An up to date banned list can be found HERE.

By reading our Requirements, you will get a good understanding of what is allowed and not allowed within our lobbies, discord, etc. And how we expect our members to conduct themselves. This will give you an idea as to whether CEWL is the right place for you. We run our crew professionally and our crew is led and moderated by people who have never met each other in real life - it is not a crew run by friends. So we expect a certain standard within our crew and we ask that you ask yourself whether you are able to meet these standards and expectations.

By reading our Mega Guide you will get a good understanding of what it means to be a CEWL member, and how we as a crew operate in game. You will get an understanding of how MC sale rotations are conducted for example, and you’ll be able to slot in within the crew quickly and efficiently by having a base understanding. Don’t worry about memorising everything, our members are extremely helpful and patient and are more than happy to help guide new members on how we run things, so don’t let yourself get overwhelmed, we understand that this is just a game at the end of the day and not your job.

Applying for CEWL has historically been quite a daunting task, we used to ask you to fill in a 15 question test to prove to us you had read our rules and you were expected to achieve 100%. You were also only permitted to take the test once a week. Fear not, those days are gone and we have streamlined our application process. Simply join our discord server by clicking here. Once there, navigate to #apply where you will be able to submit an application. Applications take only a couple of minutes and we only need a few details from you. Fill in the required information and follow all the prompts by the bot. Once your application has been submitted, a member of staff or moderator will review your application. Wait times vary and can be almost instantaneous to taking a few hours depending on the time of day you apply.

If you are accepted into the crew you will receive a welcome message from the application bot and the member role will be applied to your account allowing you full access to our servers channels. At this point you have been sent an invite to one of our official crews. All you need to do is accept the invite. This can be done on Rockstar Social Club or on GTA Online via Options > Online > Crews > Invitations > CEWL Grinders Utd (2,3 or 4 may also be suffixed depending on the crew number, currently CEWL Grinders Utd is for PS5 and CEWL Grinders Utd 2 is for PS4) > Accept invite. If you accept the invite in game you may be prompted to change your active crew. If you wish to get straight into a CEWL session then change your active crew to CEWL, at this point you will be taken to the character selection screen (this will happen if you are online and you change your active crew on social club, this will take you out of any heist, mission or free roam session you are currently in, only change when you are ready). Once you set CEWL to your active tag you are ready to join our sessions!
